The Design Process
I have a very simple and flexible design process. This is a general overview of how the design process will typically go, keep in mind that every project is different and this might not be how your project flows. I will ALWAYS keep you informed on the progress of our work, so you will always know where we are and what we are doing.
I work step by step; I proceed to the next step only after you are 100% satisfied with the previous step. For this reason, it really helps when you are available on a daily basis so the project can be completed in a timely manner. How long your project takes depends in great part in your availability, if you will be away or unavailable, please let me know.
Retainer Fee
You will need to make a payment of 20% of the total cost of your project to save a spot on our waiting list.
Analysis
Before I start the project, I will send you a very detailed questionnaire that will help me understand your taste, needs and expectations. You need to answer these questions as clearly as possible. I normally send this questionnaire right after I receive your retainer fee, this way you will have the time you need to provide me as much information as possible.
Deposit Payment
40% of the total project cost is due before I start working on your project. You will receive an invoice two weeks before your start date. Payment is due at least one week before the start date. If you are not ready to start your project, just let me know so I can make arrangements with other clients on my waiting list.
Design
After I review your expectations, I will develop two to three design mock ups that will reflect color scheme, layout and graphics based on your questionnaire. This is a very important part of the design process and I highly recommend you are available on a daily basis during this phase. I will revise any of these mock ups until you are 100% satisfied or create new mock ups if you feel none of the drafts are heading on the right direction.
Development
After all the design characteristics meet your expectations I will then write the code for your website, adding the design specifications you require as well as data basing (if applicable). During this phase I also enter all your content information (if applicable)
Quality Assurance
After your website is functional, each and every page is put through a rigorous testing where I will test the web site with different browsers and settings to ensure compatibility as well as test of any forms (order, contact, feedback, etc), download speeds, coding validation, etc.
Review and Teaching Session
After I have tested your web site, you are given the opportunity to review and test drive your web site; during this phase, you should write down any technical questions you might have. I will send you a manual on how to understand and maintain your brand new website (if applicable) and answer any questions you might have.
Final Payment
Final payment (remaining 40%) is due.
Launch
Your site is ready to go! You have unlimited customer support, I will always be available to answer any questions you might have (this does not refer to maintenance services).
